Mar 11 How English records work", what there is and what there isn't. Michael Gandy is making a return visit by popular requ6st and will enlighten members on the structure of records available for research.

April 8 CHANGE OF VENUE FOR THIS MEETING ONLY - Guildford United Reformed Church, Portsmouth Road, Guildford, GU2 4BS - Car parking is available at the rear of the building via Lawn Road and turning left twice. Damned Civil Servants: was your ancestor in the Public Service? The history of the Civil Service in Britain, particularly the main Departments of State and the Post Office, will be covered by Alan Ruston. He will discuss how to research ancestors in public service including customs and excise officers.

May 13 Forgotten Heroes: researching Ancestors killed in the Great War. Many names adorn the nation's war memorials but how much do we really know about them? Geoff Bridger will illustrate how to trace their lives and careers and how they died as well as how to locate their last resting place or memorial near the field of battle.

June 10 The History and Use of the Wey Navigation. The National Trust lecturer, Allan Williams, will be covering the building of the canal from the 17th Century and the life of those connected with its work over the centuries.
