Forthcoming Meetings
Mar 25 Jeanne Bunting - "Maps, Directories and the Census." The use of maps and directories
can help to find entries in the census. The talk is illustrated by the use of London and
Sheffield material, but the technique applies to any large town.
Apr 22 Informal Meeting - "Skeletons out of the Cupboard". Was one of your ancestors the last
person to be hanged at Exeter Jail? Bring along your assorted rogues and tell us all
about them.
May 27 Moira Bonnington - "The Needle in the Haystack - How to find Ancestors in London." Our ancestors came to London from all over the country. Others were born there and
stayed, perhaps moving about within London. There are many different sources and
., records. Moira will help us to find them.
June 24 Lady Mary Teviot - `Kill or Cure' - Medicine in the 19th Century." Lady Teviot has
been involved in family history research for over 35 years, and has given talks in many
overseas countries. She is currently President of the Federation of Family History
Societies. Her talk this evening is concerned with medical issues and conditions in the
19th Century. Also see our Educational Events
