May 13 'The County Maps of Surrey' This talk by Carole Garrard of the SHC concerns the major surveys of the County and associated maps, the cartographers, engravers and publishers responsible for them prior to the Ordnance Survey. Carole will also include some background information on the development of maps in England, how they were produced and a little about how to identify them.
