Forthcoming Meetings

Jun 10 'Jessie's Journal' is the story of migration in the late 19th Century. Geoff & Anna-May Bridger will present the story of Geoffs great grandmother's travels from the original and rare diary that Jessie kept. The story is profusely illustrated with contemporary and modern pictures. (-A truly wonderful evening. Jill)

July 8 'Projects Undertaken at the Surrey History Centre' - Kathryn and Philip Bennett (WSFHS Members) are volunteers at the Surrey History Centre. They will talk about material from: the Registers from Chertsey Workhouse; The Surrey Regiment; The Queen's Regiment and Quarter Session Records. This is a full and informative evening, of interest to both local and national researchers, and new information about the Quarter Sessions records is coming to light all the time and will be incorporated into their talk. There will be a break during the evening but remember that refreshments are served before the meeting begins.

Sept 9 `Village Life'- George Yalden. This is a walk into village life using as many types of record as can be had; other types of records not normally associated with Family History that can be useful; using your own experience of the differences of village life to town life; recalling the characters that are found in most villages; looking at the Family History and not the genealogy of the village. It is a birth through to death experience.
